TermDefinition
Wind Vane A device attached to a tall building that spins freely to show the direction of the wind.
Atmosphere The blanket of air that surrounds Earth.
Cloud Cover Refers to the part of the sky blocked by clouds when observed from a particular location
Celsius Temperature scale where water boils a 100 degrees and freezes at 0 degrees.
Farenheit Temperature scale where water boils at 212 degrees and freezes at 32 degrees.
Precipitation Water that falls to the earth as hail, mist, rain, sleet, or snow.
Rain Guage A cylinder that catches rain to measure rainfall in an area.
Temperature The amount of hotness or coldness that can be measured using a thermometer.
Thermometer A tool used to measure temperature.
Weather The condition of the atmosphere at a certain time and place.
Wind The movement of air around earth.
