Predator | An animal that naturally preys on others. |
Prey | An animal that is hunted and killed by another for food. |
Community | An interacting group of various species in a common location. |
Consumer | An organism that must eat to get its energy. |
Decomposer | An organism that gets energy by breaking down dead organisms. |
Ecosystem | All the living and nonliving things that interact with each other in an environment. |
Energy | Transferred between organisms in food webs from producers to consumers. |
Habitat | The natural home or environment of an animal, plant, or other organism. |
Organism | Any living biological thing. |
Population | All the inhabitants of a particular town, area, or country. |
Producer | An organism that makes its own food; a plant. |
Sun | The star at the center of the solar system. It is a hot ball of gases that gives off great amounts of energy. |
