| Term | Definition |

| Delta | An area of sediment that builds up to form a flat piece of land where a river flows into an ocean or a lake. |
| Deposition | Depositing sediment in a new location (builds new land) |
| Erosion | The movement of weathered material by wind, water, waves or ice. |
| Glacier | A large body of ice moving slowly down a slope or over a wide area of land. |
| Landform | A feature of Earth’s surface. |
| Sediment | Material deposited by water, wind, or ice. |
| Slow Change | The changes happening over a long period of time |
| Soil | The top layer of the earth's surface in which plants can grow, consisting of rock and mineral particles mixed with decayed organic matter and having the capability of retaining water. |
| Weathering | The breaking down of rock into smaller pieces. |
