TermDefinition
Battery An electric cell or cells used to provide stored electrical energy.
Closed Circuit A complete electrical pathway.
Conductor A material that allows energy to pass through.
Electrical Circuit A pathway through which electricity may flow.
Electricity Energy of moving electric charges.
Insulator A material that blocks energy from moving through.
Open Circuit An incomplete electrical pathway.
Path Conductors that connect the other components of an electrical circuit.
Switch A device for making and breaking the connection in an electric circuit.
Electrical Current The flow of electricity through a circuit.
Energy The ability to cause changes in matter.
Thermal Energy The energy of moving particles that make up all matter. Also known as heat energy.
