Genre Characteristics - Informational

| Structure | The way authors organize information in text. |
| Timeline | A tool that organizes information. It is used to describe the order in which events happened. |
| Article | A piece of writing other than fiction or poetry that forms a separate part of a publication (as a magazine or newspaper). |
| Chronological Order | The arrangement of things following one after another in time. |
| Main Idea | The most important point of the message the author wants to share. |
| Subheadings | The heading or title of a section or subdivision of a printed text. |
