Vocabulary

TermDefinition
Adage An old familiar saying that shows the wisdom of a group of people.
Affix A piece added to a word, or root, which signals or changes its role in a sentence.
Pronunciation The act or way of saying a word or words.
Pun A play on words that usually plays on similarities of spelling and/or pronunciation between words that different meanings
Syllabication The dividing of words into syllables.
Word Origin The language that a word originally comes from.
Latin Word A word that comes from Latin.
Dictionary Entry A set of information that describes a word or phrase.
