Intro Concepts Music

This is an introduction to the concepts of music that you will use this term

TermDefinition
Duration The length of a sound or silence in music. Words to describe the duration of a sound or silence = long, short, very long, medium, very short
Pitch The height or depth of a sounds Words to use to describe pitch = high, very high, low, very low, mid range
Dynamics The loudness or softness of sound words used to describe the dynamics of the music very soft, moderately soft, soft, moderately loud, loud, very loud
Tone Colour The instruments heard in music and how their sound is produced and sounds. Bright, nasal, glittering, clear, warm, mellow, majestic, reedy, haunting, sombre, sparkling, rough, airy, muted
Structure How a piece of music is put together, the plan. Words to use Intro, verse, chorus, Section A, B, outro,
Tempo The speed of the music words to Use very fast, very slow, fast, slow, moderate
Texture The layers of sound in the music
