Cell Structure Comprises individual components with specific functions essential to carry out life's processes.
Metabolism The chemical processes that occur within a living organism in order to maintain life.
Chemical Bonds A connection between two surfaces or objects that's joined together by means of an adhesive substance, heat, or pressure.
Cells Smallest structural and functional unit of an organism.
Macromolecules Combined with other atoms and molecules to form larger and more complex chemicals .
Molecules Combinations of atoms form larger chemical groupings.
Organelles Chemical structure may be organized within larger units.
Medial toward the midline of the body
lateral towards the side of the body , or away from the its midline
Superfacial Near the surface
Lumen The hollow area of any organ
