| Term | Definition |

| Control | A part of an experiment that does not change. |
| Experiment | A scientific procedure undertaken to make a discovery, test a hypothesis, or demonstrate a known fact. |
| Hypothesis | A concept or idea that you test through research and experiments. |
| Variable | A variable is anything that can change or be changed. |
| Conclusion | The final claim of the scientist made after analyzing the experiments data (evidence). |
| Force | A push or pull that causes an object to move, stop or change direction. |
| Friction | A force that acts between two objects that touch each other or rub together. |
| Gravity | A force that pulls all objects toward the earth. |
| Magnetism | The force of attraction or repulsion some materials have on other materials. |
| Motion | A change in position over time. |
| Mass | The amount of matter in something. |
| Pull | To use force to bring towards the force. |
| Push | to press against with force so as to move away |
| Texture | The feel, appearance, or consistency of a surface or substance. |
| Work | The use of force to move or change an object . |
