TermDefinition
Electric Current The flow of electricity through a circuit.
Parallel Circuit closed circuit in which the current divides into two or more paths before recombining to complete the circuit.
Series Circuit A circuit with more than one component, but in which there is only one path for the current to flow.
Battery An electric cell or cells used to provide stored electrical energy.
Circuit Device that provides a path for electrical current to flow.
Closed Circuit A complete electrical pathway.
Conductor A material that allows energy to pass through.
Insulator A material that blocks energy from moving through.
Open Circuit An incomplete electrical pathway.
Switch A device for making and breaking the connection in an electric circuit.
