Celestial body A naturally made object outside earths atmosphere
Planet An object in space that orbits a star, is almost a round shape, has a clear region
Comets A sphered celestial body made of ice, rock and dust
Elliptical orbit An oval shaped orbit around a celestial body
The Kuiper belt A region of comets beyond Neptune’s orbit
The Oort Cloud A huge sphere of trillions of comets surrounding our solar system
Asteroids Small, rocky structures
Asteroid belt A region of asteroids located between Mars and Jupiter
Meteoroid Small asteroids (10km in diameter)
Planetoids Large asteroids (1000km in diameter)
Meteor A meteoroid that hits earths atmosphere also known as “shooting stars”
Meteorite A meteoroid that passes through earths atmosphere
