Acute respiratory distress syndrome Respiratory failure as a result of disease or injury
asthma Respiratory disease characterized by coughing, wheezing and shortness of breath caused by constriction or narrowing and inflammation of airways that is reversible between attacks
chronic obstructive PD Progressive lung disease obstructing airflow and makes breathing difficult ( chronic bronchitis and emphysema)
coccidioidomycosis fungal disease affecting the lungs and sometimes other organs of the body
croup condition resulting from acute obstruction of larynx barking cough hoarseness and stridor. mostly in children
cystic fibrosis Hereditary disorder of the exocrine glands characterized by excessive mucus production in respiratory tract, pancreatic deficiency and other symptoms
deviated septum one part of nasal cavity is smaller because of malformation or injury of nasal septum
epistaxis nose bleed
idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis chronic progressive lung disorder characterized by increasing scarring which reduces the capacity of the lungs. adults over age 50
influenza highly contagious and often severe viral infection of respiratory tract
obstructive sleep apnea Repetitive pharyngeal collapse during sleep which leads to transient absent go breathing
pertussis highly contagious bacterial infection of RT characterized by and acute crowing inspiration or whoop
pleural effusion fluid in pleural space caused by disease process or trauma
pulmonary edema fluid accumulation in alveoli and bronchioles most often manifestation of heart failure
pulmonary embolism matter foreign to circulation, breaks off
pulmonary emphysema loss of elasticity of alveoli resulting in distention causing stretching of lungs cannot receive enough oxygen
Tuberculosis infectious bacterial disease spread by inhalation of small particles and affects the lungs
upper R infection infection of the nasal cavity pharynx and larynx caused by virus
