Space Terms

Star a fixed luminous point in the night sky which is a large, remote incandescent body like the sun
Galaxy a system of millions or billions of stars, together with gas and dust, held together by gravitational attraction
Universe all existing matter and space considered as a whole; the cosmos
Multiverse an infinite realm of being or potential being of which the universe is regarded as a part or instance
Planet a celestial body moving in an elliptical orbit around a star
Space the physical universe beyond the earth's atmosphere
Satellite an artificial body placed in orbit around the earth or moon or another planet in order to collect information or for communication
Rocket an elongated rocket-propelled missile or spacecraft
Gravity the force that attracts a body toward the center of the earth, or toward any other physical body having mass
