TermDefinition
BIOME A large region of Earth that has certain climate and certain living things in it.
ECOSYSTEM A system in which shows the interaction between living and non-living things.
HABITAT The natural home or environment of a plant, animal, or a living thing.
DECIDIOUS TREES A type of tree that had light-green leaves, and they fall at winter.
CONIFEROUS TREES A type of tree that has dark green needles, and they never fall.
FOOD CHAIN The food relation among different living things.
FOOD WEB A food web shows more connections and it is more messy than a food chain.
FOREST FLOOR The first layer of the forest, where the grass and soil is.
SHRUB LAYER The second layer of the forest, where we can find shrubs and bushes.
CANOPY The 4th layer of the forest, where the crowns of the trees are.
PRODUCER Plants are producers, that produce the food for other animals.
CONSUMER Animals are consumers. This is because they don't produce, they just consume the food.
TYPES OF FORESTS Temperate forest, Rainforest, Taiga.
MAJOR BIOMES Aquatic, desert, forest, grassland, tundra
LIVING THINGS Things that are alive. Living things grow, move, and reproduce.
NON-LIVING THINGS Air, sun, rock, soil, water.
