| Term | Definition |

| BIOME | A large region of Earth that has certain climate and certain living things in it. |
| ECOSYSTEM | A system in which shows the interaction between living and non-living things. |
| HABITAT | The natural home or environment of a plant, animal, or a living thing. |
| DECIDIOUS TREES | A type of tree that had light-green leaves, and they fall at winter. |
| CONIFEROUS TREES | A type of tree that has dark green needles, and they never fall. |
| FOOD CHAIN | The food relation among different living things. |
| FOOD WEB | A food web shows more connections and it is more messy than a food chain. |
| FOREST FLOOR | The first layer of the forest, where the grass and soil is. |
| SHRUB LAYER | The second layer of the forest, where we can find shrubs and bushes. |
| CANOPY | The 4th layer of the forest, where the crowns of the trees are. |
| PRODUCER | Plants are producers, that produce the food for other animals. |
| CONSUMER | Animals are consumers. This is because they don't produce, they just consume the food. |
| TYPES OF FORESTS | Temperate forest, Rainforest, Taiga. |
| MAJOR BIOMES | Aquatic, desert, forest, grassland, tundra |
| LIVING THINGS | Things that are alive. Living things grow, move, and reproduce. |
| NON-LIVING THINGS | Air, sun, rock, soil, water. |
