What is a hormone? Mediator molecules that regulate the activity of cells in other parts of the body.
Lymphatic system The lymphatic system, or lymphoid system, is an organ system in vertebrates that is part of the circulatory system and the immune system.
5 main functions of the respiratory system ? Gas Exchange – oxygen and carbon dioxide. Breathing – movement of air. Sound Production. Olfactory Assistance – sense of smell. Protection – from dust and microbes entering body through mucus production, cilia, and coughing.
Components of the digestive system consist of ? The digestive system includes the mouth, pharynx (throat), esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, rectum, and anus.
What is pH balance? Your body's pH balance, also referred to as its acid-base balance, is the level of acids and bases in your blood at which your body functions best.
What is an acid? An acid is a molecule or ion capable of donating a proton, or, alternatively, capable of forming a covalent bond with an electron pair.
What is a base? a pH of greater than 7 indicates a base
