Light A form of energy that travels as an electromagnetic wave
electromagnetic spectrum All types of light waves arranged according to frequency and wavelength
visible light the portion of the electromagnetic spectrum that is visible to human eye
opaque no light can pass through
transparent light can pass through easily
translucent some light can pass through
reflection when light waves bounce off of an object
refraction when light waves bend as they travel from one medium to another
absorption when light waves transfer energy to particles of matter
transmission when light waves pass through an object without interacting
scattering when light waves reflect in all different directions
