hydrology the study of water on earth
water cycle the cycle of processes by which water circulates between the earth's oceans, atmosphere, and land, involving precipitation as rain and snow, drainage in streams and rivers, and return to the atmosphere by evaporation and transpiration.
evaporation water goes from liquid to gas
condensation water goes from gas to liquid (clouds)
percipitaton rain, snow, sleet, hail falling to the ground
temperature how hot or cold it is
salinity how much dissolved salt something holds
density weight per size, how closely the molecules are packed together
run-off water that does not absorb, but runs off down the surface
transpiration plants 'breathing' water out (plant sweat)
ground water water under the ground in aquifers
currents the movement of water in the oceans, controlled by wind, tides, plate tectonics, water density etc.
Coriolis Effect the curving of currents due to the spinning of the earth
