The Gas Giant Planets Notes

Gas giants | have deep, massive gas atmospheres, which are made up mostly of hydrogen and helium. |
A planetary ring | is a disk of material that circles a planet and consists of orbiting particles. |
Jupiter Facts | Fifth planet from the sun. Largest planet in the solar system. Has the most moons of any planet in the solar system. |
The Galilean moons | are the four largest moons of Jupiter. Listed in order from Largest to Smallest they are: Ganymede, Callisto, Io, and Europa. |
Saturn Facts | Sixth planet from the sun. Second largest gas giant planet. Has planetary rings |
Saturn has | many moons, the two largest are Enceladus and Titan. |
Uranus Facts | Seventh planet from the sun. Only planet tilted on its side during its orbit around the sun. |
Uranus has | 27 moons, and it’s fifth-largest moon, Miranda, is turning itself inside out. |
Neptune Facts | Eighth planet from the sun. The smallest gas planet. |
One of Neptune’s moons, | Triton, orbits in the opposite direction of the other moons. |
