Earth's Systems and the Layers of the Atmosphere

This is the mostly solid, rocky part of earth. It extends from the center of earth to the surface of earth.It is divided into three layers based on chemical composition: the crust, the mantle, and the core. Geosphere
Part of earth that is liquid water. 97% of all of the water on earth is the salt water found in the ocean. Oceans cover 71% of earths surface; includes the fresh water in lakes, rivers, and marshes, rain, water in clouds, and underground. Hydrosphere
This part of earth's systems is made up of all the frozen water on earth therefore, all of the ice, sea ice, glaciers, ice shelves, and icebergs, permafrost, frozen ground found at high latitudes, ice caps in Antarctica and in the Arctic. Cryosphere
This part of Earth's system is the mixture of gases that surrounds earth. This mixture is most often referred to as air. It is mostly made of invisible gases that surround earth. Atmosphere
This Earth system is made up of living things in the areas of earth where they are found. Organisms have even been found deep in earths crust and high in clouds. Biosphere
This is the measure of the force with which air molecules push on an area of a surface; it is not the same throughout the atmosphere. Air Pressure
