| Nocturnal | An animal that is active at nights and sleeps during the day |
| Camouflage | When an animal blends in with its surroundings |
| Adaptation | A characteristic of a plant or animal that helps it to survive within its environment |
| Migration | The seasonal movement of animal from one place to another |
| Hibernation | An animals body processes slowing down for survival in extreme cold conditions |
| Mimicry | When an organism pretends to be or pretends to look like another organism for protection |
| Offspring | New organism that comes from the parent organism |
| Inherited Traits | A characteristic that is passed from parents to offspring |
| Instinct | A behavior an animal does without being taught |
| Learned Behavior | A behavior that an organism learns to do by observing other organisms |
| Adaptation | A structure or behavior an animal has that helps it survive in its environment |
| Life Cycle | The stages of growth and development that an organism goes through during its lifetime |
| Overpopulation | A population that is greater than the resources available in an ecosystem |
| Delta | Created by the deposition of sediment by a river |
| Canyon | Created by the erosion of sediments by a river |
| Sand Dune | Created by the erosion and deposition of sediments by wind |
| Transpiration | The process when a plant absorbs water through the roots and then gives off water vapor through the pores of the leaves |
