Sometimes a comet has two tails---a blue one and a yellow one. What is the difference? Blue tail is the steam burning off the nucleus and yellow tail is made out of dust particles.
Name the three famous comets that are named in your book and that we discussed in class. Halley's comet, Hale-Bopp comet, and Shoemaker-Levy comet
Where on Earth have people found the ground covered with meteorites---over 10,000 of them? Antarctica

Name the inner planets (these are the ones between the asteroid belt and the sun---these are also terrestrial planets). Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars
Name the outer planets (these are beyond the asteroid belt and are mostly gaseous). Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto
Sometimes a meteoroid hits Earth's atmosphere and completely burns up. People often call these shooting stars but actually they are what? meteors
