amphibian A cold-blooded vertebrate typically living on land but breeding in water
reptile A cold-blooded vertebrate that lays eggs and has lungs and scaly skin.
mammal A warm-blooded vertebrate that has hair and feeds its young milk.
trait A characteristic that an organism can pass on to its offspring through its genes.
classify to group or label in an organized way
leaves The flat plant structure used collect sunlight for photosynthesis
seed The plant structure that contains a young plant inside a protective covering
flowering plants plants that produce flowers and pollen whose seeds are protected by fruits and nuts.
Coniferous plants non-flowering plants that grow cones instead of flowers to make seeds
Spore a small cell that grows into a new plant that are found in ferns and mosses
Reproduce to make more of the same kind
Herbivore an organism that eats only plants
Omnivore an organism that eats both plants and animals
Carnivore an organism that eats animals
Inherited Trait a characteristic passed on from a parent to an offspring like eye or fur color
Acquired Trait a characteristic that a living thing gets during its lifetime
Organism a living thing
Warm-blooded Animals animal whose body temperature remains the same regardless of the temperature around them
Cold-blooded Animals animal whose temperature is the same as their environment
