Permeable having pores or openings that permit liquids or gases to pass through. Ex: sponge
Aquifer a water-bearing layer of permeable rock, sand, or gravel. Ex: Edwards Aquifer
Aquitard an impermeable layer (usually rock) along an aquifer.
dilute to make thinner or weaker by adding more water Ex: coffee is too strong, so add some water to weaken the taste.
pollution to contaminate an environment especially with man-made waste. Ex: trash
contaminate to make impure or unclean. Ex: pouring toxic waste into the ocean
toxic poisonous material capable of causing death. Ex: nuclear waste
pesticide an agent used to destroy pests. Ex: Raid, DDT
