Renewable and Nonrenewable Resources

| Oil | Nonrenewable, used to make gasoline for transportation, produces CO2 when burned |
| Natural Gas | Nonrenewable, cleaner than coal, Fracking concerns. |
| Nuclear | Nonrenewable, Energy comes from fission reactions in the nucleus of atoms |
| Solar Power | Renewable, Solar cells change energy into electricity. Only available when the sun is shining. |
| Wind Energy | Renewable, Wind turns turbines that generate electricity |
| Hydroelectricity | Makes electricity from running water, most widely used renewable resource in the US |
| Biofuel | Renewable energy, use plants like corn to make ethanol gas. |
| Geothermal | Renewable, Energy from Earth's interior heats steam that makes electricity |
| Fossil Fuels | Resources formed from the remains of living organisms. (Coal, Oil and Natural Gas) |
