Aricept (donepezil) Therapeutic Class: anti-Alzheimer's agents Pharmacologic: cholinergic (cholinesterase inhibitors) Treat mild, moderate or severe dementia/neurocognitive disorder associated with Alzheimer's disease. Therapeutic Effect: May temporarily lessen some of the dementia associated with Alzheimer's disease. Enhances cognition. Does not cure the disease.
Exelon (rivastigmine) Therapeutic Class: anti-Alzheimer's agent Pharmacologic: cholinergic (cholinesterase inhibitors) Treat mild to moderate dementia associated with Alzheimer's disease. Decreased dementia (temporary) associated with Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease. Enhance cognitive ability.
Namenda (memantine) Therapeutic Class: anti-Alzheimer's agents Pharmacologic: N-methyl-D-aspartate antagonist Treat moderate to severe dementia/neurocognitive disorder associated with Alzheimer's disease. Decreased symptoms of dementia/cognitive decline. Does not slow progression. Cognitive enhancement. Does not cure disease.
Razadyne (galantamine) Therapeutic Class: anti-Alzheimer's agent Pharmacologic Class: cholinergic (cholinesterase inhibitors) Treat mild to moderate dementia/neurocognitive disorder of the Alzheimer's type. Decreased dementia/cognitive decline (temporary) associated with Alzheimer's disease. Cognitive enhancer.
Namzaric (memantine and donepezil) Therapeutic Class: anti-Alzheimer's agent Pharmacologic Class: NMDA Antagonist and Cholinesterase Inhibitor Treat moderate to severe Alzheimer's disease. Blocks the toxic effects associated with excess glutamate and regulates glutamate activation
