TermDefinition
Mesoderm The middle layer of an embryo in early development. The layer between the Endoderm and Ectoderm.
Membrane A thin sheet of tissue or layer of cells acting as a boundary, lining in a n organism.
Matrix An environment or material in which something develops a surrounding medium or structure.
Goblet Cell A mucus-secreting epithelial cell that is distended at the free end.
Cutaneous Membrane Membranes that form the linings of the body cavities that open to the exterior. EX. Digestive
Prone Body lying face down.
Supine Body lying face up
Anatomical Position The position with the body erect with the arms at the side and the palms forward.
Endoplasmic Reticulum A continuous membrane system that forms a series of flattened sacs within the sytoplasm of eukaryotic cells.
Golgi Apparatus A cell organelle that helps process and package proteins and lipid molecules.
