Ecosystems Part 2

TermDefinition
competition The struggle among organisms for the same limited resources.
parasitism A relationship in which one organism lives on or in a host and harms it.
mutualism A relationship in which both species benefit.
commensalism A relationship between two species in which one benefits and the other is neither helped nor harmed.
symbiosis A relationship between two organisms of a different species that benefits at least one of the organisms.
environment All of the conditions surrounding an organism.
pollution Any substance that damages the environment.
conservation An attempt to preserve or protect an environment from harmful changes.
