What are the three states of matter? solid, liquid, gas
How do particles in solids move? particles do not move from their position, they only vibrate, they have a fixed volume and shape
How do particles in liquids move? particles move enough to slide past each other, they take the shape of their container, and they have a fixed volume but no fixed shape
How do particles in gases move? particles bounce freely and rapidly, they fill a container no matter what, they do not have a fixed volume or fixed shape
What is mass? the amount of matter in an object
What tool is used to measure mass a balance scale
What is volume? the amount of space an object takes up
What is weight? the force of gravity between Earth and an object
What is density? density is how tightly packed particles are in an object
