Rain Shadow the area on the side of a mountain range that gets little or no rain or cloud cover
1st Step in Rain Shadow A moving body of air hits the side of a mountain range.
2nd Step in Rain Shadow The air is pushed up the side of the mountain.
3rd Step in Rain Shadow As the air moves up it is cooled.
4th Step in Rain Shadow The water vapor condenses when it gets cooler.
5th Step in Rain Shadow The mountainside receives rain.
6th Step in Rain Shadow The air is now dry when it reaches the other side of the mountain.
