Igneous rock formed when hot,molten volcanic material cooled down and became solid. Ex.Granite and basalt
Sedimentary rock formed from the compressed remains(sediments)of animals,plants and other rocks. Ex.limestone,sandstone,coal and shale.
Metamorphic rock they were once Igneous or Sedimentary rocks which were changed by great heat or pressure. Ex.marble,quartzite.
