| Condensation | When gas turns back into a liquid |
| Ground Water | Water held underground in the soil or in the pores and crevices of rock |
| Transpiration | The process when a plant absorbs water through the roots and the gives off water vapor through the pores of the leaves |
| Runoff | The draining away of water carried from the surface |
| Water Cycle | The cycle of processes by which water circulates between the Earth's oceans, atmosphere, and land. |
| Accumulation | To gather together |
| Rotation/Rotate | To spin or make a circular motion on its own axis |
| Revolution/Revolve | To go all the way around |
| Axis | An imaginary line which the body rotates |
| Equator | An imaginary line dividing the Northern and Southern Hemispheres |
| Tilt | A sloping position |
| Day/Night Cycle | Caused by the Earth's rotation or spinning on its axis once every 24 hours |
| Earth | 3rd planet from the Sun that has an atmosphere and rocky and water filled surface. |
| Moon | Earth's natural satellite that has no atmosphere and a rocky surface. |
| Sun | A star at the center of the Solar System made of plasma. |
