Chemical Bond Vocab

What is an atom? The builbing blocks for everything
What is an element? A substance made from a certain type of atom
What is a compound? They are formed when different elements bond
What is a molecule? A group of atoms bonded together and can be the same elements or different elements
What are valence electrons? Electrons that are on the outermost shell and can make atoms unbalenced
What are energy levels? Layers in an electron cloud
What is the Ocet Rule? It is when atoms have their outer shell filled up with as many electrons as it can
What is a covalent bond? It is formed by sharing a pair of electrons
What are ionic bonds? It is formed by transfer of electron and forms ions
Is Water a molecule or a compound? Both
Is Ozone a molecule or a compound? Molecule
