How would you describe a nerve impulse? An all or nothing response
What are the types of nerve cells? Sensory, motor, interneurons, and neurons in the Brain
What does the ANS control? It is large unconscious system that regulates bodily functions. Like heart rate, digestion, respiration rate, urination, and the fight or flight response.
What is a neurotransmitter? chemical substance that is released at the end of a nerve fiber by the arrival of nerve impulse
What makes up the endocrine system? Pineal, pituitary, thyroid, parathyroid, thymus, adrenal, glands and pancreas and ovaries in women
What does the job of the pineal gland? Regulation of sleep
What are platelets? Colorless blood cells that help blood clot with aid in stopping of bleeding
What organs and tissues are involved in the immune system? The lymph system for it stores and carries white blood cells
What is the respiratory cycle? Has two phases that are inspiration (inhaling) of 02 and expiration (exhalation) of CO2.
What does gas exchange take place? Within the lungs along with millions of alveoli on the capillaries
