How does having the moon affect earth The moons affects the tides, it gives us light, in some cases it can give us eclipses
How does the moon affect living things on earth with humans it can make us more aggressive with animals they reproduce more
how big Is the moon 3476km
Describe the moons surface Filled with creators and mountains

What are creators Big holes in the ground where other stuff has hit that hole
what are rays Light colored streaks of dust that give the moon it's low gravity
Whats a Maria Marias are what's believed to be large empty seas but there's no proof
how long does it take for the moon to orbit earth once around 29 1/2 days
how long does it take the moon to rotate on it's axis around 29 1/2 days
Why do we only see one side of the moon from here on Earth? The moon doesn't spin it just revolves around the earth
How does the moon cause Tides on Earth? The moon pulls and pushes water with tidal force
Why does the moon seem to go through phases each month? The moon doesn't give off light it reflects it so sometimes not all parts of the moon is showing at once
How long does it take the moon to go through all of its phases? about 30 days
How long does each phase of the moon last? around 3 days
what is a spring tide The gravity of the sun and moon puling the ocean at the same time
Whats a neap tide The sun and moons gravities work against each other causing the high tides to be much lower than normal
whats a direct tide The high tide on the side of the Earth that is facing the moon
What is an Opposite Tide? The high tide on the side of the Earth that's not facing the moon
How do Lunar and Solar Eclipses occur? When the Moon passes between Sun and Earth, the solar eclipse happens when the earth passes between the sun and the moon the lunar eclipse happens
What is an Umbra? the shaded are from a solar eclipse
What is a Penumbra? The lightly shaded area next to the shaded area of the solar eclipse
what would a total lunar eclipse look like (Total Lunar Eclipse the moon would look like it's glowing kinda red)
What would a partial lunar eclipse look like (Partial Lunar Eclipse the moon would be glowing reddish but not all of the moon would show)
what would a total Solar eclipse look like The sun would be behind the moon so the moon would look pure black
What would a partial Solar eclipse look like The sun would be behind the moon but you would be able to see some of the sun
How much is Earth’s axis tilted? 23.5 degress
Why is it hotter in summer and cooler in winter here in Maine? The sun in summer shines directly on us vs in winter the suns light is speadout more so its not beaming directly on us
If Earth’s axis were tilted LESS than it is now, how would that affect the seasons? Less extreme seasons but also that means warmer winters cooler summers
If Earth’s axis were tilted MORE than it is now, how would that affect the seasons? The seasons would be super extreme super cold winters super warm summers
Why is the sun dimmer and cooler in Winter? Why do some places have The sun in summer shines directly on us vs in winter the suns light is speadout more so its not beaming directly on us
Why do some places have nearly 24 hours of darkness in Winter? Because some places get shined on for 24 hours during the lunar eclipse
why do some places have nearly 24 hours of sunlight in summer? Because some places get shined on for 24 hours during the solar eclipse
