Infiltration the process that allows precipitation that falls on land to enter the ground and become groundwater
Porosity the percentage of pore space in a material
Zone of saturation the depth below Earth's surface at which groundwater completely fills all the pores of a material
Zone of saturation the upper boundary of the zone of saturation gaps between soil is filled with air and water
Water Table
Permeability ability of a material to let water pass through it
Aquifer an underground layer of rock that holds groundwater.
Sinkhole cavities in the ground that form when water erodes an underlying rock layer.
