air pressure the force exterted by the atmosphere on earth's surface by the wight of the air above the surface
anemometer a scientific tool used to measure wind speed
atmosphere the layer og gas surrounding the planet that is held in place by gravity
convection heat transfer caused by the rising of hotter, less dense fluids and the falling of cooler denser fluids
coriolis effect the apperant deflection of moving air, as seen by an observer on earth, as a result of earth's rotation
radiation the transfer of energy by the movement of electromagnetic waves or subatomic particles
thermal energy the total kinetic (motion) energy of the tiny particles that make up matter; the faster the particles move, the warmer the matter becoms
wind a natural movement of air, sometimes with considerable force, from an area of high density and pressure to an area of low density and pressure.
