scene | smaller sections of a play that occurs at one place and time |
act | the main sections of a play |
playwright | a person who writes plays |
props | small items used by actors |
dialogue | characters’ spoken words |
set | large items that represent the location of the play |
script | the entire written text of a play |
stage directions | tells the actors what to do or describes the setting (unspoken words usually in parenthesis) |
present tense | refers to action that is happening now |
past tense | shows action that has already occurred |

fiercely | expressed with extreme force or anger; intensely |
urge | to ask for or support earnestly; to try to persuade |
sarcastically | tone of voice or remarks made usually to hurt someone’s feelings or show scorn |
