Digital Footprint

digital footprint trail of data you create while using the Internet.
cookies a small piece of code that identifies a user and tracks their behavior online, offers convenience by keeping you signed into a site so that you do not have to re-type your personal details.
geolocation the process or technique of identifying the geographical location of a person or device by means of digital information processed via the internet.
metadata a set of data that describes and gives information about other data.
Data is information processed or stored by a computer.
spreadsheet computer program used for accounting and recording data using rows and columns into which information can be entered.
browser history list of web pages a user has visited, as well as associated data such as page title and time of visit.
digital literacy the ability to use information and communication technologies to find, evaluate, create, and communicate information, requiring both cognitive and technical skills.
blog is a discussion or informational website published on the World Wide Web consisting of discrete, often informal diary-style text entries
dossier a collection of documents about a particular person, event, or subject.
derogatory showing a critical or disrespectful attitude.
social networking the use of dedicated websites and applications to interact with other users, or to find people with similar interests to oneself.
viral an image or a video has become incredibly popular in just a matter of hours or days by being shared from thousands (sometimes even millions) of people on social media.
profile visual display of personal data associated with a specific user, or a customized desktop environment.
privacy settings are controls available on many social networking and other websites that allow users to limit who can access your profile and what information visitors can see.
