| creep | slow, steady downhill flow of loose material |
| mud flow | fast moving mixture of mud and water |
| land slide | rapid downhill movement of material large area looses layer of rock and rapidly down slope |
| slump | material moves along a curved surface and rotates and slides down |
| avalanche | movement of snow |
| deflation | lowering of land surface due to wind erosion |
| abrasion | Rocks and sediment grinding against each other wear away surfaces |
| ventifact | rocks shaped by wind blown sediments polished smooth sides and sharp edges |
| loess | wind blown thick silt deposits from glacial activity it makes very fertile soil |
| glacier | mass movement of ice |
| valley glacier | accumulations of snow and ice in the mountainous areas, flow very slowly |
| continental glacier | cover much more area than valley, thickest in the center and tin at the edges |
| cirque | deep depression scooped out by a valley glacier. |
| esker | long winding ridge of layered sediments deposited by streams |
