Basic Descriptive Geometry

| azimuth | A measurement that defines the direction of a line off due north. |
| bearing | The angle a line makes in the top view with a north-south line. |
| descriptive geometry | A graphic process for solving three-dimensional problems in engineering and engineering design. |
| dihedral angle | The angle formed when two planes intersect. |
| frontal line | A line that is parallel to the vertical plane. |
| grade | The percentage by which land slopes. |
| level line | A line that is horizontal in the vertical projection. |
| normal line | A line that is perpendicular to the other two. |
| piercing point | The point at which a line intersects a plane. |
| profile line | A line that is parallel to the profile reference plane. |
| skew lines | Two lines that are not parallel and do not intersect. |
| slope | A line's angle from the horizontal reference plane. |
| user coordinate system (UCS) | In AutoCAD, a user-defined orientation of the X, Y, and Z axes of the Cartesian coordinate system. |
