chlorophyll green pigment found in chloroplasts that absorbs light energy required for photosynthesis
chloroplasts a specialized organelle in photosynthetic organisms that captures the energy from sunlight and converts it into chemical energy
glucose the main sugar that provides energy for cells
photosynthesis the process by which green plants and some other organisms use water, sunlight, and carbon dioxide to make food
products the substances present after a chemical reaction
reactants the substances present before a chemical reaction
stomata the small openings on leaves or stems that are used for gas exchange
xylem a type of vascular tissue that transports water and nutrients throughout the plant
