What did the Lalonde Report propose? The concept of the "health field"
What did the health fields in the Lalonde Report identify? Two main health objectives: prevention of health problems and promotion of good health
What are the 4 parts of a health field? human biology, environment, lifestyle, and healthcare organization
How is health promotion defined? It is the process of enabling people to increase control over and improve their health in order to reach a complete state of physical, mental and social wellbeing
What are NHPs? (and examples) natural health products ex. probiotics, herbal remedies, vitamins, homeopathic remedies
What is OTC? (and examples) Over the counter medications are the medications that kept behind the counter and only distributed by the pharmacist ex. medications known to be misused
What is primary health promotion? Improve and promote health of individuals
What is secondary health promotion? Prevent the progression or alleviate disease
What is tertiary health promotion? Aims to soften the impact of an already progressed disease
