TermDefinition
Absorption The process or action by witch one thing absorbs or is absorbed by another.
Conduction The transfer of heat from one substance to another by direct contact of particles of matter.
Convention The transfer of heat movement of a fluid
Electromagnetic wave A form of energy that can travel through space.
Energy transformation A change from one form energy to another
Green house effect The process by which heat is trapped in the atmosphere by watervaper, carbon dioxide, methane, and other gases that form a blanket around earth.
Heat The energy transferred from a warmer object to a cooler object.
Infrared rotation A form of energy with wavelengths that we are larger than visible light.
Botation The direct transfer of energy through empty space by electromagnetic waves
Reflection The throwing back by a surface of light, heat, and sound without absorbing it.
Scattering Reflection or light in all directions.
Solar energy Energy from the sun
Thermal energy The energy or motion in the molecules of a substance
Ultriviolet radiation A form of energy with wavelengths that are shorter than visible light
Visible light Light that can be seen by the human eye
Wavelength The horizantal distance between two waves crest
