QuestionAnswer
Absorption the process or action by which one thing absorbs or is absorbed by another.
Conduction The process by which heat from one substance to another.
Convention the transfer of heat by the movement of a fluid.
Electromagnetic wave A form of energy that can travel through space.
Energy transformation A change to one type of energy to another.
Greenhouse affect the trapping of the sun's warmth in a planet's lower atmosphere, due to the greater transparency of the atmosphere to visible radiation from the sun than to infrared radiation emitted from the planet's surface.
Heat The energy transferred the warmer object to the cooler object.
infrared radiation A form of energy with wavelengths that are longer than visible light.
Radiation The emission of energy as electromagnetic waves or as moving subatomic particles, especially high-energy particles which cause ionization.
Reflection The change in direction of a wavefront at an interface between two different media so that the wavefront returns into the medium from which it originated.
Scattering Reflection of light in all directions
Solar energy Energy from the sun
Thermal energy The energy in motion in molecules
UV radiation Invisible rays that are part of the energy that comes from the sun.
Visible light light that can be seen by the human eye.
wave lengths The horizontal distance between two crest.
