Science terms

QuestionAnswer
Alter change or cause to change in character or composition, typically in a comparatively small but significant way
Chronological starting with the earliest and following the order in which they occurred
Compile produce something by assembling information collected from other sources
Content from Classwork a description or explanation of an idea or concept that you learned from class
Data and experimental results show what happened (in numbers, photos, or graphs) in an experiment
Demonstrate show how something is done, show how something works; or give proof or evidence of something
Design a plan or drawing produced to show the look and function or workings of a building, garment, or other object before it is built or made
Detect discover or identify something
Examine inspect in detail to determine their nature or condition; investigate thoroughly
Interpret explain the meaning of information
Investigate carry out a systematic or formal inquiry to discover and examine the facts of an incident so as to establish the truth.
Models Models can help you visualize, or picture in your mind, something that is difficult to see or understand.
Sort category of things or people having some common feature; a type
Trend a general direction in which something is developing or changing
Inconsistent not staying the same throughout
Appropriate suitable or proper in the circumstances
Interact act in such a way as to have an effect on another
Trace find or discover by investigation
Observations retell part of a story of something that was seen happening. They are then recorded as accurately as possible.
Quotations exact words taken from a resource book, article, website or even videos. “Quotation marks” show they are someone else’s words.
