QuestionAnswer
High Tide When the water levels budge out the highest amount. Occurs about every 12 hours.
Low Tide When the water levels recede to the lowest amount. Occurs about every 12 hours.
Spring Tide A tide with the greatest difference between high and low tide that occurs when the sun and the moon are aligned in a line with Earth.
Neap Tide A tide with the least difference between high and low tide that occurs when the sun and moon pull at right angles to each other.
Geocentric The belief that the earth is at the center of the solar system.
Heliocentric The belief that the sun is at the center of the solar system.
Meteor A streak of light in the sky produced by the burning of a meteoroid in Earth's atmosphere.
Meteorite A meteor that has hit Earth's surface.
Meteoroid A chunk of rock or dust in space.
Equinox The two days of the year on which neither hemisphere is tilted toward or away from the sun
