| Term | Definition |

| Dissolve | To become so small you can no longer see it, but it is still there |
| Friction | The force in which two objects rub against each other causing them to heat up or slow down |
| Force | A push or a pull |
| Pressure | To apply a force on the surface of an object |
| Absorb | To soak up |
| Current | The direction the electricity is moving |
| Energy Source | Electricity that comes from a battery, solar panel, cell, fossil fuels or generator |
| Switch | Turns the circuit on and off |
| Series Circuit | A circuit where the electrons have multiple paths to take. If one light is removed, the others will stay on. |
| Parallel Circuit | A circuit where the electrons have only one path to take. If one light is removed, they all stop working. |
| Fuse | A safety device consisting of a strip of wire that melts and breaks an electric circuit if the current exceeds safe travel. |
| Reflection/Reflect | The bouncing back of light waves off a surface |
| Refraction/Refract | The bending of light waves as they move through one medium into another |
| Prism | A glass or transparent object that bends light to separate white light into the spectrum of colors |
| Transmit | To transfer from one place to another |
| Medium | A substance or material that makes it possible for the transfer of energy from one location to another |
| Items that reflect light | Water, shiny objects and metals, glass, periscopes |
| Items that refract light | Water, prisms, anything with a lens |
| Gravity | A force that pulls towards the center of a heavenly body |
| Air Pressure | The force exerted onto a surface by the weight of the air |
