Acid Rain

What is acid rain caused by? When sulfur and nitrogen are released into the air.
What are some things that cause sulfur and nitrogen to be released in to the air? Gasoline and oil factories and cars.
How is acid rain formed? When sulfur and nitrogen are released into the air and mix with the moisture in the air and fall to the earth as acid rain.
How does acid rain harm plants? Acid rain harms plants because the acid burns the outside layers of the plabt that contain chlorophyll ( that makes food for the plants).
How does acid rain harm soil? Changes the soil so plants can't absorb the nutrients in it.
How does acid rain harm aquatic life? Harms aquatic life because animals can't live in highly acidic lakes.
What is the ideal number on the pH scale for plants? 6
How does acid rain harm statues and historical monuments? Acid rain harms them because it eats away at the limestone and deteriorates the statue.
