Matter Classification

QuestionAnswer
Mechanical Mixture Combination of pure substances in which the different substances are individually visible.
Suspensions Cloudy mixture in which tiny particles of one substance are within another (type of heterogeneous mixture).
Solution Combination of pure substances in which the different substances are not individually visible (type of homogeneous mixture).
Homogeneous Mixture One substance dissolved in another and all parts look the same.
Heterogeneous Mixture A mixture in which the different parts are visible.
Pure Substance One kind of matter with a unique set of properties such as colour, hardness, boiling point, and melting point (and element or compound).
