energy required to make things happen...need it to move breathe, see, hear, blink, etc.
function a task that organisms perform
gas exchange the uptake or release of gases for life processes
growth an increase in amount of living material due to natural development.
nonliving something that was never alive
organism Any living thing.
population A group of the same species living in the same area.
reproduce to make more of the same kind
response reaction to a stimulus
species a group of similar organisms
spores capsules produced to survive unfavorable times
stimulus something that causes a change or reaction in an organism
environment the place where an organism lives and the external factors that affect that organism
metabolism the sum of all the physical and chemical processes in an organism.
